Moog Music is building just 35 of the System 35, 55 of the System 55, and 150 of the slightly more affordable System 15. Long coveted by progressive rock fiends, the Moog Modulars were also huge in the disco era. Despite the availability (and reliability) of all of the great digital synths and software instruments that have done a great job at emulating the originals, ask any serious keyboard freak, and they'll happily tell you that, as the Marvin Gaye song goes, there ain't nothing like the real thing. These are sonic creative tools for artists who truly want to carve their own sounds. With no presets and no samples and nothing but true analog synth goodness, each time you approach a Moog Modular, you can count on getting unique and powerful sounds that won't be easily replicated by any other musician or producer.

Moog modular synthesizers go back to the original approach for music synthesis, where oscillators are physically wired into amplifiers and filters via patch cables. For this new run, the engineers at Moog went back to the drawing board -- or, more accurately, the original circuit board and design plans -- and are hand-crafting this new run of the classic synthesizers. Suffice it to say that between the collectors and serious players, the new run of Moog Modulars will not last long.
